Mongolian DPOs

In Mongolia there are approximatley 6000 Non-Government Organisations and only 55 serve PWDs.  These 55 DPOs have varying capacity and experience with most only operating periodically throughout the year with 1-2 regular staff members.  Most of the DPOs have not secured Government funding. They have limited experience in working together, accessing and sharing information and most do not have their own office.  Due to the low capacity of people working in DPOs, there is limited information about disability available in Mongolia.  DPO staff are also used as cheap labor and do not have high reputations within the aimags.  4 of the 55 DPOs are umbrella or Nation-wide organisations and have their own branches in all aimags (provinces) of Mongolia.  It can be concluded that 1 aimag has at least 3 DPOs.
